Joe O’Dea will protect Social Security and Medicare for senior citizens and aging Americans

Senior leaders praised O’Dea’s commitment to seniors, and criticized Bennet for trying to scare senior voters with false attacks.

As national polls show Colorado’s U.S Senate race in a statistical tie, Democratic Senator Michael Bennet has launched a TV advertisement saying he will protect Social Security and Joe O’Dea won’t.

Senior citizens are livid that Bennet isn’t telling the truth about O’Dea’s position on Social Security and Medicare. 

“I’ve promised to protect Social Security for seniors and aging Americans, and I will,” said Joe O’Dea, the Construction CEO and political outsider who has never run for office before. “I’ll oppose any cut to benefits for retirees and aging Americans, I’ll oppose investing Social Security in the Stock Market, and I’ll fight big spending politicians who raid the Social Security Trust Fund to spend on other programs. It’s wrong; I will not break our promise to seniors.”

“Michael Bennet and Joe Biden’s policies are squeezing all Americans, especially seniors on a fixed budget,” O’Dea added. “Biden and Bennet have created an inflation disaster that is making it harder for seniors to pay their bills. I’m running for the U.S. Senate to attack inflation – to get the cost of living under control in this country.”

“Michael Bennet is lying about Joe O’Dea because Bennet is desperate and is losing,” said Kathryn Myers of Aurora. “As a senior citizen who is on Social Security and Medicare, I know: Joe O’Dea will defend Social Security and Medicare.”

“Joe O’Dea is a good man, and Michael Bennet is not telling the truth about him,” added Hattie Reed, a Douglas County retiree. “Joe O’Dea will protect Social Security and Medicare for seniors, defend a woman’s right to choose, and bring an end to the reckless spending policies that have created the nation’s inflation crisis.”

O’Dea believes big spending politicians are the biggest threat to Social Security, like Joe Biden’s recent executive action forgiving $10,000 in college loan debt for households making as much as $250,000 a year. Bennet supports Biden’s student debt forgiveness plan. 

The Biden-Bennet student debt forgiveness plan will add between $300 billion and $1 trillion to the national debt. O’Dea says this kind of reckless spending is the real threat to the solvency of Social Security and Medicare.  

“When politicians like Biden and Bennet spend in a reckless way, it’s inevitable that they’ll raid funds, cut benefits, and break promises to the seniors who rely on those programs,” concluded Lynne Cottrell of Aurora. “How do we know? Politicians like Bennet and Biden have been raiding the Social Security trust funds to spend on other programs for years.”
